CCU Empty Bowls project 2014
CCU's student art club, CHROMA, has been leading the Empty Bowls project at CCU for several years. Since this is a community-based project to raise money for a local non-profit organization, ARTE 310 volunteered to assist with under glazing and glazing bowls. We discussed the process of ceramics and the different stages of firing and glazing. This took place on March 4, 2014. After this experience (which included a tour of the ceramics studio), there were a few students who commented that they'd like to take a ceramics class. We looked forward to seeing the finished pieces and participating in the event, which was held the last week of March, 2014 in Edwards Courtyard. CCU Art Department faculty contributed many varieties of soup.
